How to Manually Install the Airleads Chrome Extension

Follow the steps in this guide to install the Airleads Chrome Extension manually from a shared Zip file containing the extension files. Once installed, the Airleads extension will automatically scan any LinkedIn profiles that you view, and for logged-in users, can even provide additional details and contact information about contacts or companies that are already on Airleads.

Step 1 – Extract the Build Files

  • First, download and extract the build files from the Zip folder.
  • Ensure the extracted build folder is in a safe location on your computer to avoid accidental deletion.

Note: If you’re using Windows’ built-in tool to extract the zip file, it may automatically place the build folder inside of another folder of the same name, which can cause the installation of the extension to fail. So be cautious of that. If you end up with a build folder inside another build folder, you’ll need to select the inner one when loading the extension in Chrome.

The correct build folder should have contents similar to the ones pictured here. Do not modify these files.

Step 2 – Open Chrome’s Extensions Page

  • Open Google Chrome and type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar.
  • Alternatively, click the puzzle piece icon and select Manage Extensions.

Step 3 – Enable Developer Mode

  • Once you’re on the Manage Extensions page, ensure that Developer Mode is enabled. This will allow you to install extensions from sources other than the Chrome Store.

Step 4 – Load the Unpacked Extension

  • Click the ‘Load unpacked’ button and navigate to the build folder extracted in Step 1.
  • Select the correct folder to load the extension.

Step 5 – Verify the Installation

  • If you see the Airleads extension listed with the Enable/Disable toggle turned on, it’s ready to use.
  • Check the extension status on the Manage Extensions page.

Error Handling:
If you see an error message like the one below after selecting the build folder, that means either you’ve selected the wrong folder or some important files within it have been changed or deleted. If this happens, hit Cancel and go back to Step 1 to verify you’ve got the correct build folder before trying Step 4 again.

Step 6 – Pin the Extension

  • For quicker access, click the puzzle piece icon and pin the Airleads extension to your toolbar.
  • Even if not pinned, the extension remains accessible from the Extensions menu.

How to Update or Uninstall the Chrome Extension

Since the Airleads Chrome Extension was not installed from the Chrome Store, it will not receive automatic updates. So if you receive a newer version of the extension that you wish to upgrade to, you’ll need to manually uninstall the extension and then install the newer version using the steps below:

Step 1 – Uninstalling the Extension

  • To uninstall, go to the Manage Extensions page (chrome://extensions/) and click the ‘Remove’ button under the Airleads extension.

For the sake of keeping your PC free from clutter, we recommend also locating and deleting the build folder you installed the extension from. As long as the build folder still exists on your machine and is not modified, you can still re-install the extension using the original installation process detailed above.

Step 2 – Updating the Extension

  • After uninstalling the old version of the extension, you can repeat the original installation process detailed above to upgrade to the newer version of the extension.

Is there a free trial available?

Yes! The free tier of AirLeads includes enough credits to unlock up to 1,000 contacts per year.

Can I change my plan later?

Of course! Just have the account holder for your business sign into Airleads and go to My Profile > My Subscription > and then upgrade the plan based on your new preference. If you are having trouble changing your plan contact support@airleads.io.

How does billing work?

Whether you choose a paid plan at sign-up or upgrade to one later on, you can choose if you’d like to be billed on a monthly or yearly basis, and you’ll need to add a linked credit card.We’ll charge your card for the first billing period up front, then automatically at the start of each billing period going forward, unless you cancel or downgrade to the Free Tier.

Do I have to enter my credit card information to sign up?

In order to sign up, you have to register your credit card information. If you sign up for the free subscription, your card will not be charged. You will only be charged the price of the subscription you sign up for.
